ZIMMERMANN *History
When you buy an upright or grand piano, you always buy the experience and skill of those who build the instrument. A brief look at the company's rich past shows just how much tradition Zimmermann can look back on.
Zimmermann is a brand with a great German piano-making tradition. Back in 1884, brothers Max and Richard Zimmermann founded their piano factory near Leipzig under the name Zimmermann Brothers. And with considerable success: just 20 years later, the two had expanded their company into Europe's second largest piano factory. Instead of resting on their laurels, however, they opened further production sites - including one in Seifhennersdorf in Saxony, where the famous C. Bechstein factory is located today. In 1946, Zimmermann was transformed into VEB Sächsiche Pianofortefabrik Seifhennersdorf and as such also played in the second league of Europe's largest piano manufacturers. It was therefore a great honor for C. Bechstein to welcome the proud, traditional brand into the family in 1992.
Since that time, Zimmermann has been an important part of the C. Bechstein brand family, complementing it with instruments that combine good quality and warm sound with affordability. In this way, Zimmermann is continuing its almost 140-year success story and is already looking forward to the next chapters - and to many new happy players.
