Where and how was the grand piano built? How much manual work and quality of materials went into its production. The manufacturer itself is also an important indicator of the price, as the production location, manufacturing method, expertise and sound quality all play a key role.
The cost of used grand pianos depends on their age, origin, condition and type of construction. In the case of new grand pianos, the upright pianos are among the cheaper models within a manufacturer and the concert grand pianos are among the more expensive grand pianos, again depending on the manufacturer's characteristics, of course.
